You will not get the “green emulsion-like” effect removed anymore once it is on your screen without some more ‘aggressive’ cleaning materials.
There are a few reasons why you can have this effect:

  • your emulsion was too thick and not well hardened before exposure (let it dry at least an hour when your emulsion layers are quite thick)
  • or when emulsion is somewhat to thick, expose it longer on the exposure table (attention: this method will effect your results when there are gradients)
  • apply less emulsion (or ‘scrap it off’ in a third layer).
  • you have not ‘massaged’ the emulsion firmly enough in your screen on the printing and inking side. Massage it more (both) sides, leave it for 3-5 minutes and then use the high pressure to wash it out.

Once the screen is ‘greeny’ and you can not get it out, you can buy ‘anti ghost’ it will get out some more emulsion, but will not get you a clean white/yellow screen.

‘Wiping’ the screen:

  • step 1: apply Stripper (manual sprinkler with the “S”) on both sides & massage them in very thoroughly with the big soft brush, then after 3-5 minutes spray it out with the high pressure
  • step 2: apply Ammonia (manual sprinkler withe the “A”) on both sides & massage them in very thoroughly with the little harder brush, then spray it out with the high pressure. Put the high pressure on the ‘inking’ side (the side where you apply the ink) very closely until all ink is out
  • step 3: apply Degreaser (manual sprinkler with the “D”) on both sides and then spray it out with the high pressure on both sides.

‘Cleaning’ the screen (so your image stays):

  • step 2: apply Ammonia (manual sprinkler withe the “A”) on both sides & massage them in very thoroughly with the little harder brush, then spray it out with the high pressure. Put the high pressure on the ‘inking’ side (the side where you apply the ink) very closely until all ink is out
  • step 3: apply Degreaser (manual sprinkler with the “D”) on both sides and then spray it out with the high pressure on both sides.
